Why I Started SwimFinance
My name is Brian Kwon. I am a Grade 10 competitive swimmer, and I became interested in the financial circumstances of professional athletes.
I spoke with former professional swimmers who had become coaches. They felt that greater financial knowledge would have helped them during their competitive careers. Those conversations made me want to understand how swimmers manage money and prepare for life after competing.

What I Wanted to Learn
For my IB MYP Personal Project, I wanted to learn about athlete income, sponsorships, financial planning, career transitions and access to professional support. I focused particularly on South Korea, while keeping in mind that swimmers in other countries face different rules and circumstances.

What SwimFinance Does
SwimFinance has two purposes: explaining practical financial concepts and showing how swimmers could identify an appropriate type of professional support. The examples, budgeting tool and checklists connect those ideas to decisions a swimmer might face. Official resources offer places to explore further.
